What got you into blogging and how long ago was this?
I started blogging in 2013 after returning home from living abroad in Budapest, Hungary. I found I had so many travel stories to tell and I wanted to share them on my own platform. It was also a great form of therapy and helped with the reverse culture shock and adjustment back into my previous life that I was going through.
Fav destination and why
My favourite destination changes depending on when you ask me! Right now, it’s currently Japan. I spent 3 weeks wandering and exploring Japan earlier this year and I was constantly so amazed by the differences in each of the prefectures of Japan. I absolutely love the food and its unique culture. While I don’t speak Japanese, the people are so welcoming.
Pinterest has been a really great place for me to push growth and drive traffic to my website.
I would love to spend a couple months exploring New Zealand and Australia slowly. Both countries sound so beautiful to explore and to be able to do it slowly and thoroughly would be a dream.
Pet peeve about travelling
I actually really dislike the act of traveling itself – especially when having to fly. Everything about the process of going through security, trying to get space for my carry on, all the extra fees, and many other things irks me, but once I’m at my destination all that goes away and it’s totally worth it.
Favourite travel blogger
While not strictly a travel blogger, I really enjoy the videos from Simon and Martina of Eat Your Kimchi. They document their adventures living abroad first in South Korea and now in Japan. They have such great energy in their videos and all their food adventures have me wanting to pack my bags to wherever they are.
