Petit Palau Blanes
Carrer Lluis Companys 19, 17300 Blanes
I arrived in Costa Brava and I originally booked some accommodation in Lloret De Mar which was a big mistake and it was on the main strip and I was kept awake all night by loud party goers really not my thing so the next morning I moved to this hotel in a quieter resort of Blanes. Anything was going to be better than where I was in Lloret De Mar but I was actually really impressed with this hotel. I didn’t want to spend too much and this hotel came within my budget. I couldn’t have stayed on the beach road for more money but this location was great as it was only a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

I got a taxi from Lloret de Mar cost me €20 but I now know that there is a bus from the bus station in Lloret to Blanes for €1.80 but I was so tired from a night of not getting any sleep I just wanted to move to this hotel quickly.
I stayed in a standard balcony room No. 201 overlooking street it was quite large. It had a comfortable double bed, large flat screen TV but no English channels, safe, fridge, plenty of storage space, table and chair, balcony with table and two chairs, bathroom with shower, toiletries, swimming pool, spa and bar.
It is on quite a busy road so there is lots to watch from the balcony, there is a temporary fairground opposite for the firework competition that was on during my stay. Even though it is quite noisy, once the door is shut you cannot hear any noise which is great.
They have a spa facility which you can book via reception, you need to book it at least 2 hours in advance I think this is so they can prepare it for you. I visited the spa to take pictures and the sauna and hot tubs were not on but it looked a nice place to relax. It costs €30 per couple and €25 for solo hour. You can also have a massage and you also need to book this in advance as the therapist comes from outside, I really wanted a massage but it seemed like they were a bit reluctant to book it for me as I was asking questions but they were not being helpful so I didn’t bother.
There is a pool which you access via floor 1 it is only a small area but it gets the sun and is a nice place to chill. The pool was a nice temperature when I got in to cool down from the midday sun. there are only about 12 sun loungers and it did get full in the morning but by 1pm most people had left and then came back around 3pm.
I didn’t have breakfast included in my rate but you can have it on the premises but there are so many restaurants nearby to choose from. I was happy not having it and meant I could eat when I wanted. I really liked having a fridge especially in the hot summer as I could keep my water cool and also was able to buy some food from the local supermarket to have as snacks.
The hotel is very clean, it is adults only and very quiet. There is a bar and a lobby area that you can sit in and lots of information leaflets about the local area.
There is a shop opposite to get basic provisions such as drinks and snacks and a supermarket 5 minutes’ walk which is also where the bus station is. There is a laundrette opposite that costs €3.50. I know if you are on a week’s holiday then you won’t need this but if you more of a long term traveller this is ideal. There was also a delicious looking patisserie with some amazing cakes, unfortunately they were all too big for me to order for my lonesome.
This is a lovely hotel and I would stay here again if I was in the area. It is a great location for the firework competition with it only being a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach.
But don’t just take my word for it you can read more reviews on TripAdvisor
I really enjoyed my stay in Blanes it was a lovely resort especially the Firework festival. There was a toy train tour, a boat tour and I loved walking up and down the promenade as it was nice and flat so easy accessible.
On the beach there were planks at certain areas taking you don’t to the see and I saw people in wheelchairs using these.
However this hotel was accessible to get into the lobby and rooms but the pool had a few steep steps and this is the only way I could see you could get access.
