I caught up with Kylie to ask her a few questions about her blog and travelling.
1. What got you into blogging and how long ago was this?
I first started blogging back in 2015. I was going through the year long USA Green Card process without the help of an immigration lawyer. It was a really hard and complicated process and I wanted to use my experience to give others in a similar situation a helping hand! Now I’m living in America, I use my blog as a way of inspiring others to explore their local area or travel with a limited amount of time off. On a personal level, my blog has helped me settle into living in a new country. It gave me an aim, helped me to discover the area around me and to connect with other bloggers (and make friends!) in the area!
2. Fav destination and why?
I have a couple of favourites but I think Hawaii tops the list! I’m a huge fan of the ocean, the landscape is unlike anything I’d seen before and I love the Polynesian culture!
3. Blogging tip
It may sound crazy, but take it offline! Attend conferences or travel meet ups and meet people face to face. These give great opportunities to connect with brands or discuss tips and tricks with other bloggers. These are the people that can help put your writing in front of new audiences (and of course return the favour to them too!). Blogging can be quite a lonely process so to meet up with other people with the same passions is really special!

4. Dream trip
I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to make a lot of my dream trips realities (see photo below: staying in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives!). However, my latest dream trip is visit Tokyo in Japan! I’d love to stay in a capsule hotel but I’m aware that traditionally many of these are male only!
5. Pet peeve about travelling
I enjoy travelling solo but I really hate when tours get cancelled because I’m the only one booked on them. They usually seem to need a minimum of 2 for it to run! So close, yet so far! I’ve missed out on several experiences because of this. For example: A sunrise waffle breakfast ATV tour in Canada and Hydrospeeding in New Zealand AND Slovenia!!
6. Favourite travel blogger
One of my favourite travel bloggers is Ashley Smith from My Wanderlusty Life! I love the humour she injects into her posts, they are always entertaining and full of really helpful advice!
