Getting to Know a travel blogger – Mum on the Move
This week Marianne from Mum on the Move answers some of my questions. I read Marianne posts on Vietnam earlier this year. You can read What to Do in Hoi an with Kids Here

What got you into blogging and how long ago was this?
I originally started my blog a couple of years ago as a way to get back into freelance writing after I took a few years off to have my kids. I thought it would help build an up-to-date portfolio of writing for approaching other publications. However, my readership grew so quickly and unexpectedly, that now I pretty much focus full time on my blog.
Fav destination and why?
I love Hoi An in Vietnam. It has everything you need for a family holiday – beautiful beaches and luxury resorts, but enough fun and adventurous activities to offer too. Plus Vietnamese food is my favourite! We had the most amazing family trips last year to Borneo, Indonesia and Myanmar – but Hoi An is somewhere I would return to over and over again
Blogging tip
Connect and network with other bloggers. We have a great community of family travel bloggers across the world and we all learn from each other and support one another. Beginner bloggers often think of other bloggers as their competition – when in fact you should think about them as your colleagues.
Dream trip
I have a few on my list! Usually a dream trip involves a tropical beach and palm trees but right now I am dreaming of trekking in Bhutan. It will need to wait a few years until my kids are old enough to walk longer than 10 minutes without moaning though!
Pet peeve about travelling
My real pet peeve is people who go on about being ‘travellers not ‘tourists’. Get over yourselves! Who cares how other people travel, if they are happy?
Favourite travel blogger
Oh this is tough as I have a lot of favourites! I really enjoy following the other bloggers from my family travel ‘tribe’ as we all cover travel in different regions so I love to be inspired by them. I also learn a lot from them about blogging. They are Our Globetrotters, Learning Escapes and Wyld Family Travel.
