Products for Sensitive Skin

When a fellow cancer survivor ask me to try some of her new products I jumped at the chance. I had already got to try some of her luscious orange lip balm and found it amazing.

I don’t like lip balm I don’t even like putting lip stick on as soon as I have put it on I end up wiping it off as it feels greasy on my lips but this wasn’t like that. It had a hint of orange but it was not over powering and it was not heavy so it didn’t feel as though I had anything on my lips but the results are amazing.

Even after the first application my cracked lips were getting softer and wasn’t so sore a perfect treat for the winter months.

The products that I tested for Etieno great products for cancer survivors or anyone with sensitive skin

Precious Jason set up Etieno after her own cancer diagnosis, when she was having difficulties finding products to help with her sensitive skin. I love the name which is a West African word meaning “good gift” and any of these products would be a good gift for anyone going through chemotherapy, radiotherapy or just has sensitive skin in general.

Rosemary, Lemon and Tea Tree Shampoo Bar

One of the great things about the Rosemary, Lemon and Tea Tree Shampoo Bar is it doesn’t count as liquid so can go in your hand luggage. It can be used for showering, laundry and also comes in a cool jute bag which I thought was a lovely touch.

When the parcel arrived it was nicely wrapped I loved the bag that the shampoo bar came in and I was greeted with a amazing scent which I later found out to be the rosemary. I couldn’t stop smelling the box which probably made me look like a bit of a nutter but it was so nice I couldn’t wait to try it out on my hair.

At a cost of £9 it might seem expensive but when you way up how long it lasts and what you can use it for it is well worth the money.

The shampoo bars are made with 100% natural ingredients and are also vegan friendly they gently cleanse flaky scalps. Now it’s a bit gross but I do suffer from a flaky scalp and it’s also sensitive so that’s why I normally stick to head and shoulders as I find other shampoo irritate me but this didn’t.

Etie’no “believe anything made with love, serves love. And that’s precisely how we formulated our unique Shampoo Bars!”

Here’s the science ingredients bit:
1. Hemp Oil This gorgeous oil is revered for its balancing, hydrating, properties, making it perfect for use on your delicate scalp, and weary hair.
2. Neem Oil is a popular ayurvedic treatment for itchy or problematic skin conditions, rashes, and dandruff. It soothes your irritated scalp.
3. Rosemary Oil helps to stimulate your follicles, making your hair grow longer and stronger.

Renew Skin Balm with Manuka & Aloe Butter

The 2nd product she sent was the Renew Skin Balm with Manuka & Aloe Butter. What I liked about this product is it wasn’t too perfumed, I like to smell nice but get headaches if something smells too strong so this was just right with a hint of fragrance.

It wasn’t oily and didn’t feel heavy, I don’t even know if that is the right word but sometimes I put moisturisers on and I can feel them glooping (very technical term) on my skin and I just want to wash them off again. It includes Echinacea to boost immunity, and scented balm with pure oils of French Lavender and Australian Manuka oil, renowned all over for their soothing properties which is why my it made me skin feel so fresh and relieved after using.

“Pure oils are naturally free from artificial fragrances, colours, and other chemicals that can irritate your skin. Instead, our specially selected natural oils are rich in restorative powers and light on the skin. “
