Ibis Glasgow city hotel review
220 W Regents St, Glasgow, G2 4DQ
I stayed here for 3 nights and paid £308 for 2 adults in a twin room
I stayed at this hotel with my mum as part of a break Glasgow. It was a last minute trip and booking therefore most places were fully booked and this was one of the best of the bunch left but I was really impressed and I would actually stay here again if I was in Glasgow.
It was a great location, clean good sized rooms, great breakfast and really friendly staff.
Room at Ibis in Glasgow
When I normally stay in an Ibis hotel I am travelling solo so have a huge bed to myself this time I was with my mum and we had a twin room. The single beds were very narrow I rolled over a few times and nearly fell out due to this it wasn’t the best night’s sleep as I am quite a wriggler.
However, the room and bathroom were a great size for two people. We were not tripping over each other.
There isn’t much storage space but we were only staying for 3 nights so it was adequate. There is a small wardrobe with hanging space and shelving and a ledge spanning the width of one wall to put things on. There was also a bench to put your suitcase or other items on.
The bathroom was stocked with shampoo and shower gel in large containers so no freebees to take home this time.
There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room with shortbread biscuits that were delicious and restocked every day.
The room and the hotel in general was very clean and fresh looking. The chamber maids started cleaning the rooms early but I wasn’t disturbed by any noise and they were really polite if you met them in the corridor.
Food at Ibis in Glasgow
You can have breakfast for £8 each. It was a basic buffet breakfast, there wasn’t a great selection of things but what they did have was tasty. Bacon, eggs, sausages, potato scones, beans, tomatoes, breads, cereal, small selection of fresh fruit and yoghurt, fruit juice tea and coffee.
The hotel offers 24-hour food at reasonable prices but it is so close to many restaurants and shops that you will not go hungry here.
Staff at the Ibis in Glasgow
The staff here were really friendly and helpful. I had a package delivered whilst staying here and they looked after it for me and gave it to me on my return to the hotel.
General information about the Ibis in Glasgow
They stored our suitcases after we had checked out as we had a few hours to spare until our flight so we went and did some more sightseeing. Suitcases are not stored securely though they are put behind a screen that is in reception and could be accessed by anyone so don’t plan on leaving any valuables.
One of the best things about this hotel for me was the location. It was near the main road where you can pick up local buses, the hop on bus, around the corner is a taxi rank. The main road has lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. It is a couple of streets away from the main road so we didn’t hear any traffic noise.
There is on road parking outside with a pay metre. We got a taxi to the centre one morning to pick up an early tour and it only cost £5. There is a phone in reception that you press a button on and it automatically books a taxi for you, it came within 5 minutes.
There is an ironing room on each floor which my mum thought was a great idea and took advantage of it.
