Cruel Intentions star Selma Blair was taken into custody and arrested on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. According to USA Today, the incident took place on October 11 after Blair allegedly became physically abusive toward the flight crew after the plane landed at the gate. Blair also allegedly punched and bit two flight attendants, leaving one of them with a bloody nose and bite marks.
Following the incident, the Port Authority Police Department arrested Blair and transported her to a hospital for medical evaluation. For the unversed, an airplane arrest takes place when a passenger on the flight becomes physically violent and poses a threat to the safety of fellow passengers or the flight crew. In this case, the flight’s captain can order physical restraint, after which law enforcement officers meet the aircraft at the gate and take over.
While Blair was arrested on the plane, her actions continued outside too. According to TMZ, when she was being transported to a medical facility, Blair kicked a police officer and a registered nurse. Following the incident, Blair was charged with two felony counts of second-degree assault involving the officer and nurse.
Blair pleaded not guilty in Queens Criminal Court on October 12 and was released on $20,000 bail ($60,000 bond). The actor’s next court date is scheduled for January 19, 2027.
