Families of seven Learjet 60 crash victims have released a joint statement identifying them and asking for privacy.

They shared the statement on Facebook. It came from the families of Adam Robinson, Helen Sharp, Emma and Charlie Robinson, Rachael Reed, Charmi Fehr and Anita Maria Cetina.

It described Robinson and Sharp as “devoted parents” and their children, Emma and Charlie, as the “light of their lives.” The statement added:

“Helen and Adam were the love affair that will last forever. Their warmth, generosity and gift for making people feel welcome touched so many lives. Their loss will be felt deeply by all those who loved them and who they loved in return.”

Moving to another pair of passengers, the relatives said that Reed and Fehr “were full of joy and adventure,” and that they “loved their people fiercely, fully and without hesitation.” It said that from the moment they met, they were devoted to each other. It further added:

“They are deeply loved, and we will miss them endlessly.”

The families also mentioned Emma and Charlie’s nanny, identified as Anita Maria, who cared for them with love and devotion. They said she became a true part of their family.

An NBC News report identified the pilot and co-pilot as Jeff Gregory, 55, and Nathalia Filgueiras, 20. Gregory was an experienced aviator from Pennsylvania with decades of flying experience, and Filgueiras was from Boca Raton, Florida, and had accumulated over 1,300 hours of flight time. Her sister, Giulia Filgueiras, said she learned to fly from her father, a pilot.

According to the reports, the private jet was flying from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas with seven passengers and two crew members. It crashed around 12:50 pm local time near the neighborhood of Cresthaven in Greenacres, killing everyone aboard. The crash reportedly happened after the crew reported icing, moderate turbulence, and a rapid, uncontrolled descent, per USA Today.

CNN reported that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are still investigating the official cause of the Learjet 60 crash.

As per a report in NBC News, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that it “looked like a missile going down” because of the speed and called the crash “cataclysmic.” He said the amount of debris spanned a “pretty significant distance.”

Joel Flores, commissioner for Palm Beach County’s 3rd District, reported that at least 600 people were displaced from their homes because of the Learjet 60 crash. Authorities said they have been working to clear the scene so residents can return home.

Speaking on the ongoing investigation into the Learjet 60 plane crash, NTSB member Tom Chapman said:

“We do have some evidence that there was some breakup of the aircraft before impact. We’re still seeking to determine that.”

Witnesses on the ground described the Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, as an incredibly violent and sudden event. Multiple videos circulating online show the aircraft plunging almost straight down.
