Walt Disney World to Host Special WWE Event in Orlando

Disney is undoubtedly the big daddy in the theme-park business, as it clinched six of the top eight spots on the TEA’s (Themed Entertainment Association) list of North America’s top theme park attendance in 2025. Disney recently pulled a massive card that could help it maintain its top position.

WWE and Disney have officially partnered to host a collaborative event. On the November 2nd episode of WWE RAW, John Cena returned to the red brand, where he unveiled a new “John Cena Classic” Championship and made a breaking announcement. On December 14, the company will air two RAW episodes: one in the morning from Perth, and another in the evening, featuring John Cena Classic from Disney World in Orlando.

Disney partnering with WWE is a massive move, as both brands cater to large segments of younger audiences, and coming together would benefit both by bringing in new viewers.

Potential reason why Disney chose Orlando to host WWE

Disney’s direct threat in the theme-park business is Universal. The two often go head-to-head in the race to see who draws the most visitors to their brand.

Universal debuted its “Universal Epic Universe” park in Orlando in May of 2025, which reportedly drew a massive 4 million visitors. Disney likely collaborated with WWE to counter Universal Group’s new resort and maintain its regional monopoly through a major partnership.

Both WWE and Disney cater to a young audience; this crossover would benefit both brands by reaching new fans. Fans could even see it as a new era in entertainment, where theme parks associate themselves with the sports entertainment industry. If things go well and both brands turn a profit, fans could expect more frequent collaborations between the two.
