British Airways brings back London to Dubai flights for winter 2026 after eight-month suspension

British Airways has restored its nonstop London Heathrow to Dubai service after an eight-month suspension, giving passengers another direct connection between the two major international travel hubs.

The route resumed on Nov. 3, 2026, with one daily Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner flight for the 2026/27 winter season.

The service had initially been scheduled to return on Oct. 25, but the airline postponed its restart.

Flight BA105 departs Heathrow Terminal 5 at 8 p.m. and arrives at Dubai International Airport Terminal 1 at 7:45 a.m. the following day.

The return flight, BA104, leaves Dubai at 10 a.m. and reaches Heathrow at 2:55 p.m.

According to The National, the first returning service departed London at 8:08 p.m. on Nov. 3 and landed in Dubai at 7:33 a.m. the next morning.

British Airways suspended the route following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East on Feb. 28. Its return restores a direct option for travelers between London and Dubai after months of disruption.

The airline plans to increase the service to two daily flights during the summer 2027 travel season, subject to operating conditions.

British Airways resumes Dubai flights as other airlines extend Middle East suspensions

Meanwhile, British Airways’ Dubai restart comes as other airlines follow different timelines for restoring their Middle East routes.

Its Abu Dhabi service, for example, will remain suspended until the winter 2027–28 season.

The Lufthansa Group has postponed the return of Lufthansa, Swiss, and Eurowings flights to Dubai until Nov. 25.

Austrian Airlines plans to restart its Vienna-Dubai route on Dec. 12, operating five flights per week.

Lufthansa intends to offer up to five weekly flights from Frankfurt and Munich, while Swiss and Eurowings plan daily services from Zurich and Berlin, respectively.

Several carriers have extended cancellations into 2027. Singapore Airlines has cancelled flights SQ494 and SQ495 between Singapore and Dubai through Feb. 28, while its subsidiary Scoot has extended its Singapore-Jeddah suspension through the same date.

KLM will not operate its Amsterdam-Dubai route during the 2026–27 winter season, through Mar. 27, 2027.

Air Canada and Virgin Atlantic have also suspended their Dubai services for the season.

Other airlines with extended interruptions include Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Korean Air, Air France, and Luxair.

United Airlines expects to resume nonstop flights between Newark and Dubai in March 2027, while Wizz Air has scheduled its return for Mar. 28.

Luxair’s Dubai service is expected to resume in February 2027 at the earliest, with its planned Abu Dhabi route pushed back to late 2027.
