Disney’s Blizzard Beach recorded a 50% increase in attendance in 2025, making it one of the notable standouts in the latest global theme park attendance report from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
The organization’s 2026 Global Experience Index tracks attendance figures for the 2025 calendar year.
It also confirmed Disney Experiences as the world’s leading theme park operator, with China-based Fantawild Group in second place and Universal Destinations & Experiences taking third.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach welcomed 1.35 million visitors in 2025, up 50% from the previous year. The increase placed the Walt Disney World water park at No. 13 among the world’s most-visited water parks and No. 4 in North America.
The attendance jump was partly attributed to the park operating for approximately six months in 2025, compared with four and a half months in 2024.
Disney also offered free water park admission to overnight Walt Disney World hotel guests on their check-in day, a promotion believed to have contributed to the higher visitor numbers.
The offer returned in 2026 for the summer season, rather than throughout the year. Disney has also confirmed its return for summer 2027.
Meanwhile, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon welcomed 1.76 million visitors in 2025, a 3% decline year over year. Despite the drop, it ranked No. 6 globally and remained the most-visited water park in North America.
The report also found a slight decline in overall attendance among the world’s top 25 theme parks. Combined visits fell from 245.9 million in 2024 to 245.4 million in 2025.
TEA CEO Melissa Ruminot said the annual report provides data for tracking industry trends, understanding guest behavior, and evaluating performance over time.
Disney dominates global theme park rankings, with Magic Kingdom taking the top spot in 2025
Disney theme parks claimed eight of the top 10 spots in the latest global attendance rankings, with Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom once again named the most-visited theme park in the world.
The 2026 Global Experience Index ranked theme parks based on their 2025 attendance figures. All 12 Disney theme parks included in the report secured places in the top 20.
Magic Kingdom welcomed 17.8 million visitors, followed by Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, with 17.406 million. Tokyo Disneyland ranked fourth with 15.2 million, while Shanghai Disneyland took fifth place with 14.994 million.
Other Disney parks in the top 10 included Tokyo DisneySea at No. 7, EPCOT at No. 8, Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris at No. 9, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at No. 10.
Disney California Adventure ranked No. 11, while Disney’s Animal Kingdom placed No. 15. Hong Kong Disneyland came in at No. 17, and Walt Disney Studios Park, now known as Disney Adventure World, ranked No. 19.
Universal Studios Japan was the highest-ranked non-Disney park, taking third place with 16.04 million visitors. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in China ranked sixth, while Universal Studios Beijing placed 12th.
Further, the ratings showed variations in the attendance trends for various Disney destinations as well.
Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, Disneyland Paris, Disney California Adventure, and Disney Adventure World, experienced increased attendance compared to 2024.
However, all four Walt Disney World theme parks located in Florida along with Hong Kong Disneyland witnessed some decline. Yet again, Magic Kingdom managed to maintain its leadership among the rest.
