Tokyo Disneyland is one of the world’s largest theme parks. Millions of people visit the destination every year. Disney is set to introduce a new ride to the theme park. They will introduce a new ride based on the 2012 animated film Wreck-It Ralph. It will be named Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue and will begin on April 15, 2027. The new Wreck-It Ralph-based ride will replace Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, which the park permanently closed in 2024.
How will the new ride work?
The ride is set to retain its slow-paced theme format, where players could use blasters to score points as they travel through different scenes. According to Disney, King Candy will take over the game and turn everything, from gumdrops and ice cream to Sugar Bugs. The player must join forces with Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends to fix the glitch and restore the kingdom to normal.
The ride will also feature a brand-new background score produced by Henry Jackman. The same artist who produced the music for the movie. Tokyo Disneyland will also handle the theme decoration and introduce Sugar-Lime popcorn to celebrate the ride’s opening.
Earthrise to feature a brand-new ride
Tokyo Disneyland is set to debut a brand-new Space Mountain Earthrise, an entirely new version of the Space Mountain attraction. Disney demolished the original Space Mountain and rebuilt it from scratch with a newly developed ride system. Disney hasn’t revealed the ride’s opening date yet.
“It’s not only a whole new ride experience, but the story also has so much emotion. Through the queue and then on the ride, we see our connection to our planet and gain a new perspective for how special it is in all the universe. It’s a roller coaster with both thrill and heart,” said Walt Disney Imagineering Producer Kathleen Davis back in 2022 when the ride was announced.
Disney has been constantly working on new rides alongside these. Stay tuned to Travel To Recovery for more updates like this.
