Twilights at Bristol Zoo
Bristol Zoo is opening its doors at night for the opportunity to see the animals as the sun sets. I visited one of the Twilight sessions and it was pretty cool. On 4 Friday evenings this summer you can visit the zoo for £5 or £4 for members which is a total bargain to see some of these amazing creatures. I loved watching the Gorillas, I didn’t get to see the baby gorilla who was hiding so I need to go back.
When are the Twilight nights
July 14 6.30-10pm
August 4 6.30-10pm
August 18 6.30-10pm (amazing date as it is my birthday!! lol)
September 1 6.30-10pm
They also have a cool Dinomania exhibition on at the moment with animatronic dinosaurs throughout the Zoo Gardens. These are cool how they move, make sounds and some even squirt water which the kids loved.
I enjoyed seeing the penguins as I am currently working out my trip to Australia where I will be visiting Phillip Island to see the famous penguin parade. The penguins at Bristol Zoo are African Penguins so they might look slightly different to the ones I am going to see in Australia. I love how they waddle I could watch them for hours, however they were a little stinky.
Also loved watching the seals, they were very vocal during our visit and I have never heard the noise that a seal makes so this was cool to hear.
The zoo is very educational and you can find out about your favourite animals.
During the twilight show there are various animal talks. The talks may vary depending on which night you visit when I visited you can see below the talks that were on that night. We had an excellent guide who explained so much about the animals it was really interesting.
You can also enjoy walking around the gardens, options to buy tickets for Zooropia High Ropes Challenge (5+ and adults can get involved) and there will be live music throughout the evening.
After looking around the zoo you can have a delicious meal in the restaurant. I got to sample some of the delights that will be on offer and the quality and flavours were really good. We had some mini sausages that were so delicious we asked for seconds. The pizza made in their very own pizza ovens is also very tasty. They also have a BBQ and the smell of this was immense.
You can read more information on the Bristol Zoo Website and you can book online.
