What I did in September

What I did September in Brief

Wow this has been such a busy month. I’ve been working hard on my website and finally got it how I like it, I had assistance with the coding so im now actually showing in google rankings which is such great news. A few months ago I had never heard of SEO and now it’s taking over my life. But once I am more clued up about it, it’s gonna be all good.

Food Tour

I contacted the Bristol food walk and talk tour and managed to bag an event for the Bristol bloggers group. I was a bit nervous how it was going to turn out as it was the first event I had organised for the group but everyone seemed to enjoy and it was a success.
The food tour was great and if you are in Bristol I would highly recommend as we visited places I didn’t even know existed and I’ve lived here 16 years. Click here for more details of what we got up to and how to bookbeer-bristol-food-tour

Visit York

I had my first major press trip with Visit York. It was my first time pitching to a tourist board and luckily it went really well. Along with another travel blogger that I met earlier in the year at TBEX we got a three-day complimentary visit to York.

We visited during the food festival so had a chance to try local produce I came back with a very heavy rucksack as I bought so many goodies to bring home. Click here for more information on the Food and Drink Festival

I also managed to get two complimentary afternoon teas on the same day, it was hard work eating both but I had to do it in the name of research. Keep an eye out for my Afternoon teas around the UK article in the new year.

I stayed in York for an extra two days to do a Yorkshire moors and dales tour. This was good but so cold as when I left Bristol the sun was shining so only had sandals and a thin cardigan and the weather suddenly changed. I so wish I had a fleece with me as especially in the moors with the fog it was very bitter.

I visited the village where Heartbeat was filmed and got excited when the tour guide said we were going to where Emmerdale (a British TV soap opera) is filmed however it turned out to be where they filmed the woolpack in the 1960s so not as I know it today. I therefore have to visit this area again as I really want to go to the fictional village that they use now.

I had a great time visiting York, very tiring trying to cram everything in but hopefully Ive got some good content now for future articles.

Travel massive meet up

My 2nd Travel Massive meeting in Bristol. It a great network event of other travel bloggers, Bristol PR and attraction companies. This time it was hosted by SS Great Britain who also offered a tour of the ship. See Article

Touring bath

Visit Bath gave me a press pass to visit the attractions, I spent two days touring. I have managed to write any articles yet as been so busy and plan to do this when Im on my cruise so keep an eye out for this in December. As part of the pass I visited the @Bristol attraction in the harbourisde. I have visited here before but this time it was to watch the 3de star gazing this was really interesting see review.

Theatre

I feel as though I have spent the month at the Bristol Hippodrome. First I went to see Ghost this was amazing, it’s my favourite film and the show didn’t disappoint – see review

Next was Sister act. The show was sold out and I put my name on the waiting list and luckily I got one ticket for the matinee so I had to go on my own. It was a good show, a bit slow in the beginning but the second half was much better as the music got more lively and I started bobbing in my seat. Although this time my bum got so sore I’ve decided to take a cushion next time

Lastly was Breakfast at Tiffany’s I read bad reviews about this show on Facebook but the lead character must have improved over the course of the week as by the time I went to see on Friday night I thought she did really well. I have never seen the film so not sure how it compares but it was an enjoyable show to watch.
